Meet Mrs. Crombie

  • I am from Tallahassee, Florida and my favorite place to be besides the math classroom is anywhere outside. I love hiking, camping, kayaking, canoeing, riding my bike, going to the beach, and exploring the world around me. My family also enjoys attending FSU and Florida High sporting events. In the rare case that I am indoors, you can find me building Lego creations with my sons or reading.  My favorite television show is Lego Masters. I also love to watch sports and sports documentaries like the "30 for 30" series because I find it interesting to learn more about people and what motivates them to try their best.

Professional Information

  • Professional Experience

The 2021-2022 school year marks my seventeenth year in education.  From my first day in the classroom I have been passionate about helping students experience educational opportunities that are not only standards-based, but also related to interesting real-world experiences.  I strive to be a lifelong learner and I am a graduate of the Florida Lead Teacher Network, an organization that promotes leadership and mentoring among educators. I have participated in the National High Magnetic Laboratory's Research Experience for Teachers, the Phil Mickelson ExxonMobil Math and Science Teacher Academy, and Great Explorations in Math and Science (GEMS). I currently work closely with the FSU College of Education as a content creator and participant in research that promotes best practices in the math classroom. During the 2018-2019 school year I was the FSUS Middle School and FSUS District Teacher of the Year. From that distinction I was chosen as one of the "2020 Top Five Teachers in the State of Florida" and a finalist for the Florida Teacher of the Year. This year I am also a Khan Academy Ambassador and I look forward to continuing to work with their organization as we strive toward increasing educational opportunities across the globe.
