I want to warmly welcome you to 7th grade Language Arts / Middle School Journalism!

This is my eighth year teaching middle school Language Arts, my second year teaching journalism, and my second year at FSUS. I graduated from Florida State University's College of Social Work with a Bachelor's and Masters in Social Work. After a few years in the field of counseling, I switched careers and found my place in the classroom. I have been honored to work with hundreds of students over the past several years in a career that brings me great joy.

My husband and I have been residents of Tallahassee for over a decade. We are lucky to care for a sweet kitty named Emma and a mischievous dog named Renegade (Go Noles). We are also proud parents of two little ones with whom we enjoy sharing our love of Tallahassee. We often seek out adventures as a family by exploring our hometown: trying new restaurants, hiking hidden trails, playing in some of the fabulous Tallahassee parks, or traveling to nearby gems like Wakulla Springs or St. Marks. 

I love teaching because it is an adventure just like the ones I seek out with my family. We will have good days and challenging moments filled with discovery and growth. I cannot wait to teach you this year!
