The Florida High Engineering Society (FHES) started in 2014. The society started with very few members, but has flourished into a progressive STEM community. Although the society is called Engineering, the members explore all areas of STEM. Through community service, competing in both the Science Olympiad and Science and Engineering Fair, classes at FSU's College of Engineering, and monthly project days; the society provides members a chance to experience what being an engineer could mean. This high-school society urges middle-schoolers to start learning engineering skills such as coding, wiring, and building ahead of time. This way as soon as they join the society, they can get right to work.
