Cadence Dantley Receives State Honor

FSUS congratulates, Cadence Dantley on her recent selection to the All-State Orff Ensemble. All-State Orff Ensemble consists of top elementary musicians that were nominated and prepared by their teachers to submit an audition. Students were then selected from submissions from the entire state of Florida by a panel of judges.

To audition students had to prepare a body percussion piece, a vocal piece, and an instrumental piece. In January, Cadence will go to Tampa to rehearse and perform with renowned conductors, clinicians, and the other All-State musicians. Cadence is the first student from FSUS to be accepted into the All-State Orff Ensemble and is also the only elementary student in Leon County to be attending All-State this year.

FSUS is proud to have students like Cadence Dantley and others that excel in the performing arts. We are proud to have a great performing arts department that extends to our elementary school. Tyrone McGriff, Director of Community Development and Programming, was extremely excited to hear the news, “every student has the ability to change the world through purposeful actions each day, Cadence has been purposeful each day at school and we look forward to seeing her continue her success in the classroom and in our new STEAM building.

Danelle Eckhart, Elementary Music Teacher, was anxious to get the word out about Cadence, “Congratulations to Cadence Dantley for being selected for the All-State Orff Ensemble. Cadence is the first student from FSUS to go to All-State Orff and the only elementary student in Leon county to be selected this year. Cadence embodies the FSUS spirit with her hard work and dedication. She will go to Tampa in January to rehearse and perform with renowned conductors, clinicians, and top elementary musicians selected from around the state. It’s a great honor to be selected for All-State and we are very proud of Cadence for her amazing achievement!”
