Art Club (5th Grade)
The Elementary Art Club is for 5th grade students who are serious about art and committed to exploring different mediums, working on challenging projects, and contributing to our school’s creative community. It meets every other Tuesday from 2:45pm-3:45pm. During this time students explore art beyond the classroom, participate in community arts and enjoy guest artists. There is limited space to 24 students.

Elementary Robotics Club (4th and 5th Grade)
Lego Robotics Club offers students a hands-on opportunity to explore the world of robotics and engineering through the creative use of Lego kits. Participants will work together to design, build, and program their own robots, developing critical skills in problem-solving, teamwork, and coding. Whether you're a budding engineer or simply curious about technology, the Lego Robotics Club is the perfect place to innovate, learn, and have fun! Elementary SGA
Student Government is an organization of students who work towards improving their school and community. It is specifically a leadership and service organization that will meet after school hours once a month (4th Tuesday 2:45-3:30 pm) to plan and implement projects for our school and community. Leadership roles also meet the 1st Tuesday of every month. Students are expected to perform leadership skills in the community, classroom, and at student government meetings.

The purpose of the National Elementary Honor Society (NEHS) is to recognize students for their outstanding academic achievement and demonstrated personal responsibility, to provide meaningful service to the school and community and to develop essential leadership skills within the students of Florida State University Schools.

Running Club
Running Club is a before-school club designed to encourage students to gain an appreciation for running. It is designed to engage students in a healthier, more active lifestyle, as well as promote character principles and school pride. Students are encouraged to set personal goals and learn how to set and maintain their own individualized lap pace to complete a one-mile run.

Sewing Circle (4th and 5th Grade)
The Sewing Circle is by invite only for rising 4th- 8th graders students who completed Sewing Camp and have demonstrated proficiency in sewing. It meets every other Thursday from 3:00pm-4:00pm. During this time students will have the opportunity to reinforce techniques learned during sewing camp and will have support creating their own projects.

The Student Astronaut Challenge is an aero-space based competition sponsored by Florida State University and presented with cooperation from NASA and the Kennedy Space Center. The focus of the competition is the mobile Space Flight Simulator which was designed to replicate the retired NASA Space Shuttle.

Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) is a Career and Technical Student Organization that functions as an integral part of the Family and Consumer Sciences education curriculum and operates within the school system. Latin Club is the FSUS chapter of the student organization Junior Classical League. The objective of the club is to support the learning of Latin and Greco-Roman culture through extracurricular activities and competition, as well as give members opportunities to have a positive impact on our school and local community through community service.

Band is a co-curricular wind and percussion ensemble that teaches music through performance. National Junior Honor Society (NJHS)
National Junior Honor Society is a student-led service organization. Students are chosen based on the values of scholarship, service, leadership, and character.
● Scholarship: Maintain a 3.55 GPA or higher.
● Service: Complete 14 service hours each school year (Q1: 2 hours, Q2-4: 4 hours each).
● Leadership: Take initiative in school and community activities and serve as a positive role model for others.
● Character: Demonstrate responsibility, integrity, and respect in and out of school.
Through participation in school activities and community service projects, NJHS members further develop these values and make a positive impact. Membership is an honor and a responsibility -- students who do not uphold these standards may be dismissed from the organization

Seminole Trails - Middle School Newspaper
Seminole Trails is an on-line middle school newspaper. The students enrolled in the course will explore all types of journalistic writing and theories fundamental to the craft. The main objective of the course is to produce Seminole Trails, the student-driven on-line newspaper. Understanding accuracy, fairness, and demonstrating a professional approach to subject matter covered in student reports is considered essential to the development of not only a quality newspaper, but also to the development of the novice journalist. (Must be in the M.S. journalism class)

Middle School SGA is an organization that focuses on leadership skills, event planning, community service and problem solving skills. Book Club
The FSUS High School Book Club is open to all FSUS high school students and teachers. Students sign up in the library to join the book club, and members receive a copy of the book to read for the meeting. Students who read the book and attend the meeting may keep their copy of the book! A few weeks after students receive their copies, the Book Club meets in the library during both secondary lunches to discuss it.

Building Incredible Generations (BIG)
Building Incredible Generations, better known as B.I.G., is a student organization that focuses on community service, social justice, and inclusiveness. The organization also hosts meetings that are safe spaces for students to express their grievances and receive suggestions to resolve those grievances. Members of B.I.G. are also equipped with training to become change agents. FSUS chapter is the inaugural chapter. B.I.G now has chapters at different high schools across Leon County.

Dance Marathon is a year-long student-led initiative which aims to raise funds and awareness for children in need of specialized pediatric medical care that is otherwise not available to them locally. At Florida State University Schools, our movement culminates into a 5.5-hour event where students stay on their feet for our miracle children and our beneficiaries! FSUS Seminole E-Sports
FSUS Seminole Esports provides students with a virtual venue to participate in, and to build camaraderie with your teammates as you compete in organized league play vs. other schools across the country. We are a member club of both the High School Esports League (HSEL.org) and the North America Scholastic Esports Federation (NASEF.org). Teams compete for scholarships and prizes during both Fall and Spring season times followed by national championship events held during the summer. All matches are hosted on league-controlled (or owned) servers.

This is an opportunity for students who are interested in the field of teaching or want to know more about what teaching encompasses. Students learn the history of education in the U.S. as well as how different factors, such as student populations, legislation, and curriculum, affect the learning process. Students have the opportunity to observe and interview teachers as well as assist in elementary classrooms. Students must be enrolled in the Introduction to the Teaching Profession or Principles of Teaching Internship class.

Gender-Sexuality Alliance (GSA)
Gender-Sexuality Alliance clubs, or GSA clubs, are student-run organizations that unite LGBTQ+ and allied youth to build community and organize around issues impacting them in their schools and communities. GSA’s have evolved as a vehicle for deep social change related to racial, gender, and educational justice. Research has shown that the presence of a GSA club on school campus has a positive and lasting effect on student health, wellness, and academic performance. The organization can also protect students from harassment based on sexual orientation or gender identity, and improve school climates for all students in the long-term.

The Health Careers club is one that is open to 8-12 grade students. We aim it toward students who have an interest in working in the health care field. Our goal is to expose them to hands on skills that happen in health care, such as taking blood pressures, watching EKG’s and talking with guest speakers who work in the field of medicine.

Investment Club
The Investment club provides quality financial literacy education and programs to students from all backgrounds and socio-economic levels. We aim to teach finance and investing skills that will last a lifetime and empower students to take control of their financial future. Students are able to compete in teams to examine a short case study featuring a potential client and are tasked with collaborating to meet that client’s long-term investment goals as they try to win as a represented team.

Jazz Ensemble
Jazz Ensemble is a co-requisite, co-curricular course that teaches students to explore the fundamentals of performance practices, improvisation, and music theory through a diverse repertoire of high quality literature. Public performances may serve as a culmination of specific instructional goals. Students must be enrolled in a primary band or music course (i.e. Band, Chorus, Orchestra, Guitar, etc.) in order to be eligible to enroll in Jazz Ensemble. In rare circumstances, students may be eligible to exempt the co-requisite requirement.

Key Club
Key Club is an international, student-led organization that provides its members with opportunities to provide service, build character and develop leadership. High school student members of Key Club perform acts of service in their communities, such as cleaning up parks, collecting clothing and organizing food drives. Members also learn leadership skills by running meetings, planning projects and holding elected leadership positions at the club, district and international levels.

Marching Band
Band is a co-curricular course that is open to all 6-12 students regardless of experience level, and seeks to teach music through performance in winds, percussion, and auxiliary (visual) arts. Students in the FSUS Band program develop a lifelong appreciation for the arts and music, develop leadership and citizenship skills, support the school and local community through music, and learn about the roles and influences of music on society and vice versa. Due to the nature of this course, students will perform in various concerts, assessments, and chamber events outside of the school day. Participation in the Marching Braves is required for students Grades 9-12. Middle School students may be eligible for participation in the Marching Braves based on a formal audition and interview process. Band students must be registered for a Band course during the school day. Students who audition and make the color guard may be exempt from this rule based on course offerings for the current year. (Not an extra-curricular club)

Model United Nations
Mu Alpha Theta (Math Honor Society)
Mu Alpha Theta (MAO) is broken into two parts: the national mathematics honors society and the regional math society. The honor society portion of MAO provides recognition to students who have been consistently successful in their math courses and provides them with scholarship and leadership opportunities. High School students enrolled in Algebra II or above who have a 3.0 high school mathematics GPA and receive a teacher recommendation will be invited to join the MAO Honor Society during the second semester. The school year following induction, students in the honor society are required to earn 30 club points to remain a member in good standing and be eligible for a chord at graduation. Any high school student is welcome to join the regional branch of MAO and can do so by attending the general body meetings. Both the honors and regional societies work together to engage in the Florida High community by participating at events like carnival, hosting Pi Day activities for elementary students, offering peer tutoring, and representing FSUS at regional and state mathematics competitions.

National Art Honor Society (NAHS)
National Art Honor Society is an organization for Level 3 Honors and Advanced Placement art students who are interested in pursuing and promoting art at FSUS and in the community at large. NAHS members perform art centered community service and create advanced artworks toward their portfolios. Upon completion of arts-focused community service, active NAHS members earn colorful honor cords to adorn at graduation.

National English Honor Society (NEHS)
The National English Honor Society Delta Tau chapter at FSUS is a nationally recognized chapter that honors excellence in student achievement in English. Students are either recommended by their English teachers or voluntarily sign up. To join, students must have a minimum unweighted GPA of 3.5. The Delta Tau chapter at FSUS is also a service organization that promotes reading and literacy at school and beyond. We also help to publish the school’s literary magazine, Between the Walls. To become an inducted member of the National English Honor Society and earn honor cords at graduation, students must regularly attend club meetings and take part in club projects.

National Honor Society (NHS)
The National Honor Society (NHS) is a National organization established to recognize outstanding high school students. NHS is more than just an honor roll, NHS serves to recognize those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service and character. Chapter membership not only recognizes students for their accomplishments, but challenges them to develop further through active involvement in school activities and community service. Students must be a rising Junior or Senior to be eligible for membership. When inducted, students must maintain a 3.6 GPA or higher to remain in good standing in the club.

National Spanish Honor Society
As a chapter of the Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica (Spanish National Honor Society), our mission is to recognize high school achievement in Spanish, to promote interest in Hispanic studies and culture, and to encourage service in our school and community. Learning another language and culture promotes social tolerance and understanding of others.
Any secondary school student who has taken 3 Spanish courses, has a 3.5 cumulative GPA in Spanish, has an overall unweighted 3.0 GPA, and is in the 10th grade or higher is eligible to be a member of the SHH.

Sew FSUS
This is a high school sewing club limited to 15 members that meet after school every other Thursday (as scheduling permits). Club members learn how to sew on machines and by hand as well as other fiber arts such as needle felting, knitting, etc. Sessions rotate between being lesson based and being open to “free sew”. In addition to projects students will be able to make and keep, there are also opportunities to earn community service hours through the creation and donation of projects.

Student Council consists of a 7th period class of students who have completed both an application and interview process, submitted teacher recommendations, and exhibit outstanding leadership qualities. Our club council consists of the leaders of five active service organizations on campus; our officer council consists of the eight elected class officers, and the leadership council consists of those who are selected. The Seminoles Scribe - High School Newspaper
The Seminole Scribe is a student-produced high school newspaper that serves as a learning laboratory for students interested in studying the field of journalism. Reporting on school-related activities while examining issues of interest and importance to the student body are the primary objectives reflected in the writing of the newspaper.
The craft of journalism encompasses the art of writing, photography, and design. Both creativity and critical thinking skills, which are incorporated into this field of study, will serve students for a lifetime. Students must be enrolled in the journalism class.

Tri-M Music Honor Society
Tri-M serves as an honor society for students who have proven themselves to be both academically and musically gifted. Tri-M focuses on enriching student experiences through musical performance and community service, developing community, confidence, creativity, critical thinking, and compassion. Students who are enrolled in a music course (Chorus, Orchestra, Band) are eligible to apply for membership. Members of Tri-M are highly motivated in the area of music and set themselves apart by dedicating themselves to the highest standards of musical and personal excellence.

Yearbook
Yearbook students will develop skills in one or more of the following areas: page design, advanced publishing techniques, copywriting, editing, and photography, while producing a creative and innovative yearbook that records school memories and events. Participants will also gain useful, real-world skills in time management, marketing, teamwork, and design principles. (not a “club,” but a group affiliated with the yearbook class). An application and teacher recommendations are needed to join this class. Please note that this class fills up quickly and has a limited seat number.
